Sandbags are available in different shapes and weights. They are used to secure the bases of lighting stands and studio walls. Many are equipped with handles, to be hung from hooks or posts. Some have two wings, allowing them to be draped over the feet of lighting stands.

Most are made of cordura nylon, some are covered with vinyl and waterproof.

Some sandbag models come empty, for greater convenience and economy. They can be filled with sand, or any type of weight you provide, and emptied for storage or transport.
