Dual charging plates allow you to charge one or two batteries simultaneously, whilst an intelligent microcontroller can automatically identify the voltage and number of batteries installed on the charger and prevent overcharging regardless of the selected operating mode. Fully interchangeable battery plates allow the RP-DC50 to be used to charge virtually any type of battery. A large LCD display offers a clear, precise and accurate display of the charging status. The charging mode display for the USB output and 12V DC input allows you to see clearly how the charging mode is used to charge your professional battery. Thanks to the built-in backlight, the reading function is enabled in the dark.
Dual slot charging option
The charger has the ability to charge one or two batteries simultaneously at the same time. The intelligent microcontroller can automatically identify the voltage and number of batteries placed on the charger, perform intelligent charging during the charging process and prevent overcharging, depending on whether you select fast or standard charging mode on the Boost push button.
Charging technologies
Intelligent charging systems incorporate control systems in the charger and electronics in the battery to enable precise control of the charging process. As a safety measure with high-capacity batteries, a pre-charge stage is used. The charging cycle is initiated with a low current. If there is no corresponding increase in battery voltage, this indicates that there may be a short circuit in the battery (zero volt activation). The constant current | constant voltage (CC | CV) charging mode is an effective way to charge lithium batteries. When a lithium battery is almost empty, we use a constant current to charge it. The charger's processor automatically adjusts the charging current to be less than the maximum charging current that the battery can accept. With constant charging, the battery voltage slowly increases until it reaches the maximum voltage, at which point the charger changes the charging method to "constant voltage" and reduces the charging current. When the battery is fully charged, this state stops.
Charging time
The intelligent microcontroller can automatically identify the voltage and number of batteries present on the charger, and prevent overcharging according to the selected charging mode. In HIGH mode, a professional battery such as the HED-BP75D with 74.88 Wh will be charged in approximately 3.5 hours. Two HED-BP75D batteries will be charged in approximately 6.5 hours. In LOW mode, the charging time for a single battery is 5.2 hours or 10.2 hours for two batteries.
Fast charging mode
The fast charge push button offers a high-speed charging mode. In fast charge mode, the charger delivers a current of 1.5A per battery slot or 0.8A for two battery slots. In standard charging mode, the current is 1A per slot and 0.5A for two slots. When fast charge mode is active, it is displayed (with the fast charge icon) on the charger's LCD screen. In this charging mode, you can charge your battery more quickly, saving you time when you need it in the field.
In-car use
With a 12V-24V DC power supply (a 12V DC car charger must be ordered separately), you can use the charger and charge your batteries in the car, plane, bus or anywhere else where a 12V-24V DC power supply is provided.
Interchangeable battery plates
With easily interchangeable battery plates (they are designed for use only with the RP-DC50, RP-DC40 and RP-DC30 digital charger models), the intelligent charger can be used for all battery models from international brands. This economical option allows you to charge many different batteries, all with a single charger depending on the plate model. The charger automatically adjusts the charging voltage and charging current for the designated battery. This leaves no room for charging errors | Note: battery plate sold separately.
