BLUESHAPE GRANITE MINI batteries are designed to deliver high power in a compact and robust chassis, while adapting to the format of compact video and cinema equipment. On the outside, these batteries are designed to withstand the rigours of a film set. The textured finish provides an easy grip and resists marks from drops and impacts. The interior and exterior have been tested to withstand multiple vertical drops of up to 1.8 metres onto hard surfaces. The reinforced V-mount plate accepts charging from most standard chargers, although a separately sold BLUESHAPE V-mount charger is recommended. As well as being robust, GRANITE MINI batteries are also powerful. Power-hungry cameras and lights can draw up to 12 amps, between the battery's main output and the two D-tap connectors on the sides. In addition to providing 14.4-volt power, each D-tap can be used to charge the battery with a separately sold D-tap charger. For additional protection, the D-taps are fitted with rubber covers that help maintain the IP54 rating against moisture and dust ingress. While the 5-LED battery indicator is useful and convenient, BLUESHAPE offers a free iOS/Android app that can monitor and control various aspects of the battery, entirely wirelessly, via Wi-Fi. The app updates in real time based on current capacity, charge rate and power consumption. On set, all batteries can be monitored on the same network, so not only can you know when to pick up a fresh battery in advance, but also which battery is ready for use without having to guess.

Features

GRANITE MINI batteries are compatible with BLUESHAPE's GRANITE LINK. A Wi-Fi communication feature enabling remote, real-time monitoring via an included iOS/Android mobile app. With GRANITE LINK, you can check data such as state of charge, estimated time to depletion, cell temperature, remaining capacity, full charge capacity and cycle count. The state of charge and remaining runtime are updated in real time based on actual charge conditions.

Practical use cases
A camera operator, camera assistant or technical director can easily monitor the status of nearby batteries without having to physically press the button to check the battery itself. Multiple batteries can be monitored simultaneously from a single device. Additional features via the app allow identification, locking, unlocking and connecting to a different network. A rental mode is available to limit the period of use when the battery is rented out.

Networking
Batteries can create their own Wi-Fi network for single-battery monitoring, or can be connected to a main Wi-Fi network. A battery fleet can be easily monitored by multiple devices without complicated pairing procedures. Batteries can be given custom names for easy identification.

Internal modular design
The lithium-ion cells are secured inside the pack in a carefully designed and reinforced modular cage. All metal interconnections and the electronic monitoring board are integrated with the cells, forming a single core. No vulnerable wiring is used. The metal tabs between the cells have been thickened using a low-resistance alloy.

Solid external construction
The external V-mount plate is screwed to the internal core by means of a reinforced metal plate at the base of the battery housing. The external shells of the battery pack wrap around the internal core and secure it with 8 perimeter screws. A coloured rubber gasket is inserted in the middle of the external shells to improve the battery's weather resistance and aesthetics.
