The side bar is an additional accessory add-on for the MRMC PTA-2 robotic head. This increases the payload on the PTA-2 from the standard 25kg / 55lbs to 35kg / 77lbs. Allowing the PTA-2 to accommodate a larger cameras, box lenses or even additional accessory such as teleprompters.
