Tascam dual cassette deck
The Tascam 202MKVII is a rack-mountable dual cassette deck with USB designed to offer flexible cassette recording and transfer functions for musicians, vocalists, and archivists in personal, project, and commercial studios. It features two dual-head cassette decks, a wireless remote control with AAA batteries, and supports multiple tape types. A USB 2.0 Type-B output is provided for easy A/D conversion and digital audio transfers to a computer.
Use one-touch copying for simple cassette duplication, or initiate parallel recording to simultaneously record the same source onto both tapes. Desirable features include pitch control for deck 1, selectable noise reduction, and loop playback. In addition to standard stereo RCA input and output, the 202MKVII features a 6.35 mm mic input and a 6.35 mm stereo headphone output. Level controls are present for mic input, headphone output, and recording gain.
Features
- Dual cassette deck for playback, copying, or recording one or two cassettes
- USB output for archiving a cassette to an external recorder such as a laptop or desktop computer
- For karaoke and announcements, a 6.35 mm mic input can be mixed with deck 1 and recorded to deck 2
- 6.35 mm TRS headphone output for audio monitoring or private listening
- Special playback mode allows you to cue up the next song on one tape by listening to its sound on headphones while another tape is playing through the line outputs
- Normal playback mode routes cassette output to both line outputs and headphone jack simultaneously
- RTZ (Return to Zero) function returns the tape to the zero counter point
- Loop playback function
- ±12% pitch control function for deck 1
- Parallel recording function records audio simultaneously on both decks, creating two tapes with the same source
- Supports recording and playback of normal (Type I) and chrome (Type II) tapes
- Supports playback of metal (Type IV) tapes
- Selectable noise reduction function (equivalent to Dolby B NR) reducing hiss during playback
- 3U rack-mountable chassis
- Includes wireless remote control and two AAA batteries
