Samyang AF 14 mm f/2.8 FE lens for Sony E
Offering an ultra-wide field of view as well as an autofocus design, Samyang's AF 14 mm f/2.8 FE is a wide-angle prime lens for Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras. Its relatively fast maximum aperture of f/2.8 is suitable for working in challenging lighting conditions, and its optical design incorporates three aspherical elements and two low-dispersion elements to help reduce distortion and colour fringing for better clarity and sharpness. Ultra Multi-Coating treatment has also been applied, along with a built-in lens hood, to suppress flare and ghosting for better contrast and colour fidelity when working in bright lighting conditions. Additionally, the lens's autofocus motor works in conjunction with Sony camera AF systems for fast and accurate focus performance, and manual focus is also available for more precise control.
- The wide-angle prime lens is designed for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras, but can also be used with APS-C models where it provides an equivalent focal length of 21 mm.
- Three aspherical elements are incorporated into the optical design to control spherical aberrations in order to increase sharpness and resolution from edge to edge.
- Two extra-low dispersion glass elements help reduce chromatic aberrations, improve overall image sharpness, clarity and colour fidelity, and minimise the overall weight of the lens.
- Ultra Multi-Coating treatment has been applied to individual elements to reduce flare and ghosting for increased contrast and neutral colour balance.
- The built-in autofocus motor works in conjunction with Sony camera focus systems for fast, accurate and exact AF control. Manual focus is also available for fine-tuning your focus position.
- The rounded seven-blade diaphragm contributes to a soft and pleasing bokeh quality.
