SAMYANG MF 16MM T2.6 VDSLR CANON M LENS
The Samyang MF 16mm T2.6 VDSLR is a compact manual focus wide-angle lens designed for video shooting with DSLR or mirrorless cameras.
The lens is designed to cover full frame but is also available with mounts for cameras with APS-C and Micro Four Thirds (MFT) sensors. Thanks to its wide maximum aperture, T2.6, it is suitable for shooting even in low-light conditions, or when you wish to create scenes with a shallow depth of field.
Suitable for video and compact cameras
The Samyang MF 16mm T2.6 VDSLR is much more compact and lightweight than conventional Cine lenses whilst remaining well suited for video use. The geared focus ring can be used with follow focus equipment and a de-clicked iris ring (also geared) allows smooth and silent iris adjustment during shooting.
Low distortion
The optical design consists of 14 elements in 11 groups, including 2 aspherical elements to ensure maximum sharpness across the entire image plane, even at wide apertures. Two ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements and two HR (High Refractive) glass elements are used to minimise optical flaws such as chromatic aberration. Distortion is low for an ultra wide-angle, at only −1.86%. The Ultra Multi-Coating (UMC) treatment combats flare and ghosting, ensuring maximum contrast in recorded footage.
The lens behaves as an ultra wide-angle on a full frame camera (35 mm format) whilst on a model with an APS-C / Super 35 sensor, it offers an angle of view equivalent to 24 mm. Used on a camera with a Micro Four Thirds sensor, the lens is equivalent to a moderate wide-angle of 32 mm.
