The Samyang VDSLR 16mm T2.6 ED AS UMC is a wide-angle cinema lens designed for digital SLR cameras equipped with full-frame sensors. Inheriting the renowned image quality of Samyang wide-angle lenses, the 16mm field of view is commonly used by filmmakers worldwide for its versatile application in wide-angle emotional scenes in films and videos.
14 optical elements arranged in 11 groups are used to create the ultimate cinematic creation. 2 aspherical glass lenses, 2 ultra-low distortion lenses, and 2 high refractive index lenses are used to effectively create the light flux and minimise chromatic aberrations and distortion.
More specifically, the Samyang 16mm T2.6 is a cinema lens optimised for professional focus systems, thanks to its smooth, silent, and de-clicked focus and aperture rings. Furthermore, the distance scale and T-stop aperture values are indicated on both sides of the lens for added convenience during shooting.
