Samyang 16 mm T2.6 VDSLR, Fujifilm X
The Samyang MF 16 mm T2.6 VDSLR is a compact wide-angle manual focus lens designed for video shooting with digital SLR or mirrorless cameras.
The lens is designed to cover the full frame but is also available with mounts for cameras equipped with APS-C and Micro Four Thirds (MFT) sensors. Thanks to its large maximum aperture, T2.6, it is suitable for shooting even in low-light conditions, or when you wish to create scenes with a shallow depth of field.
Video-ready and compact
The Samyang MF 16 mm T2.6 VDSLR is much more compact and lightweight than conventional Cine lenses, yet remains perfectly suited for video use. The declutchable focus ring can be used with a follow focus system, and a declutchable aperture ring (also clicked) allows smooth and silent iris adjustment during filming.
Low distortion
The optical design includes 14 elements arranged in 11 groups, including 2 aspherical elements to ensure maximum sharpness across the entire image plane, even at full aperture. Two ED (Extra-low dispersion) glass elements and two HR (High Refractive) glass elements are used to minimise optical flaws such as chromatic aberration. Distortion is low for an ultra wide-angle, at only -1.86%. The Ultra Multi-Coating (UMC) anti-reflection coating combats flare and ghosting, and ensures maximum contrast in the recorded material.
