Unique and impressive in design, the Canon RF 600mm f/11 IS STM is a super-telephoto lens that is particularly compact and lightweight given its long focal length. Featuring a retractable design and a fixed aperture of f/11, this lens's slim profile makes handheld super-telephoto shooting possible, and optical image stabilisation further helps to obtain sharp images in challenging lighting conditions. The reduced size is also due to a distinctive optical arrangement, which uses gapless dual-layer diffractive optics instead of several heavier individual elements, effectively controlling colour fringing and chromatic aberrations for great clarity. This design is complemented by an STM stepping motor that offers fast and silent autofocus performance, suitable for both photo and video needs. In addition, a control ring is also integrated into the lens design for intuitive control of exposure settings from the lens itself. If you need more reach, the 600 mm is compatible with the RF 1.4x and 2x multipliers for an effective focal length of 840 mm or 1200 mm, respectively.
