A telephoto prime lens perfectly suited for portrait photography and other selective compositions, the Samyang 85mm f/1.4 Mk2 for Micro Four Thirds mount is characterised by its wide maximum aperture of f/1.4, allowing you to work in low-light conditions and control depth of field. The optical construction incorporates a hybrid aspherical element that helps reduce distortion and spherical aberrations for a high degree of sharpness and accurate rendering. An Ultra Multi-Coating treatment has also been applied to reduce flare and ghosting and improve contrast and colour fidelity. The manual focus design allows you to work with subjects as close as 1.1 m, and a rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.
Features
- The telephoto prime lens is designed for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras and offers an equivalent focal length of 170 mm.
- The wide maximum aperture of f/1.4 offers a high degree of control over depth of field for working with selective focus and shallow depth of field techniques. Additionally, this is also beneficial for working in low-light conditions with faster shutter speeds.
- A hybrid aspherical element is incorporated into the optical design to control spherical aberrations and improve clarity and sharpness across the entire aperture range.
- An Ultra Multi-Coating treatment has been applied to individual elements to minimise ghosting and flare, increasing contrast and colour neutrality when working in harsh lighting conditions.
- The manual focus design allows you to work with subjects as close as 1.1 m, and an internal focus design maintains the overall length of the lens during use.
- The de-clickable aperture ring function allows the aperture ring to not stop at each aperture value as cinema lenses do. This selectable function will enable continuous and smooth brightness adjustment with much more detail between values.
- The rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a soft and pleasing bokeh quality.
- The weather-sealed construction is suited for working in challenging weather conditions.
