Optical excellence with close-focusing capabilities, the Sigma 105mm f/2.8 DG DN Macro Art lens for Leica L mount is a short telephoto lens optimised for macro work. With a minimum focusing distance of 11.6" and a working distance of 5.5", this lens offers a true 1:1 life-size reproduction ratio for precise rendering of close-up subjects. Its optical design incorporates an SLD element, which also helps achieve great clarity and colour accuracy by suppressing various aberrations and chromatic fringing. A Super Multi-Layer coating has also been applied, which controls reflections and ghosting for improved contrast. To improve handling, this lens is equipped with a Hyper-Sonic Motor for fast and quiet AF performance and intuitive full-time manual focus control. A focus limiter switch also helps to increase focus speed and accuracy, and there is also a customisable AFL button and a dedicated focus mode switch. In addition, the lens features a nine-blade rounded diaphragm for smooth bokeh quality and the lens barrel is also weather-sealed to suit working in challenging conditions. Features - As a member of Sigma's Global Vision series Art line, this lens is designed to achieve truly exceptional optical performance and is ideally suited to creative and artistic applications. - The short telephoto lens is designed for full-frame Leica L mirrorless cameras but can also be used with APS-C models where it provides an equivalent focal length of 157.5mm. - A Special Low Dispersion (SLD) element significantly reduces chromatic aberrations and colour fringing for improved clarity and colour accuracy. - A Super Multi-Layer coating has been applied to the lens elements to minimise reflections and ghosting and help produce images that are rich in contrast and colour-neutral, even when shooting in bright light. - The true macro design offers a maximum 1:1 life-size magnification with a minimum focusing distance of 11.6" and a minimum working distance of 5.5", to suit working with close-up subjects. - The built-in HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) enables fast and quiet autofocus performance, which is further enhanced by an optimised AF algorithm to produce smoother focusing. The HSM also enables full-time manual focus control simply by turning the focus ring at any time. - The focus limiter switch can be used to restrict the focus range within three zones for faster and more responsive performance: 11.6" to 1.6', 1.6' to infinity, and 11.6" to infinity. - The manual aperture ring can be de-clicked for smooth and silent aperture changes to benefit video applications. In addition, a dedicated aperture ring lock switch can also be used to prevent accidental changes to the aperture setting. - The built-in autofocus lock (AFL) button, to which additional functions can be assigned, expands the range of operations available on the lens. - The nine-blade rounded diaphragm contributes to smooth and pleasing bokeh quality. - Weather-sealed construction with a brass bayonet mount that offers improved mounting accuracy and greater rigidity. - The L-mount version of this lens is compatible with the optional TC-1411 and TC-2011 teleconverters, which can be used to further increase magnification without increasing the effective working distance. In addition, this lens is compatible with the optional Sigma UD-11 USB Dock for fine-tuning various lens characteristics and updating its firmware.
