Optical excellence with close-focusing capabilities, the Sigma 105mm f/2.8 DG DN Macro Art for Sony E mount is a short telephoto lens optimised for macro use. With a minimum focus distance of 29.5 cm and a working distance of 14 cm, this lens offers a true life-size 1:1 reproduction ratio for precise rendering of close-up subjects. Its optical design incorporates an SLD element, which also contributes to achieving great clarity and colour accuracy by suppressing various aberrations and chromatic fringing. A Super Multi-Layer coating has also been applied, which controls reflections and ghosting for improved contrast. To improve handling, this lens features a Hyper-Sonic Motor for fast, quiet AF performance and intuitive full-time manual focus control. A focus limiter switch also helps increase focusing speed and accuracy, and there is also a customisable AFL button and a dedicated focus mode switch. In addition, the lens features a nine-blade rounded aperture diaphragm for smooth bokeh quality and the lens barrel is also weather-sealed to suit working in challenging conditions. Features - As a member of Sigma's Art range from the Global Vision series, this lens is designed to achieve truly outstanding optical performance and is ideally suited to creative and artistic applications. - The short telephoto lens is designed for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras but can also be used with APS-C models where it provides an equivalent focal length of 157.5 mm. - A Super Low Dispersion (SLD) element significantly reduces chromatic aberrations and colour fringing for improved clarity and colour accuracy. - A Super Multi-Layer coating has been applied to the lens elements to minimise reflections and ghosting and help produce contrast-rich, colour-neutral images, even when shooting in bright light. - The true macro design offers a maximum life-size 1:1 magnification with a minimum focus distance of 29.5 cm and a minimum working distance of 14 cm, suited to working with close-up subjects. - An integrated HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) delivers fast, quiet autofocus performance, further enhanced by an optimised AF algorithm to produce smoother focusing. The HSM also enables full-time manual focus simply by turning the focus ring at any time. - The focus limiter switch can be used to restrict the focus range to three zones for faster, more responsive performance: 29.5 cm to 48.8 cm, 48.8 cm to infinity, and 29.5 cm to infinity. - The manual aperture ring can be declicked for smooth, quiet aperture changes to benefit video applications. In addition, a dedicated aperture ring lock switch can also be used to prevent accidental changes to the aperture setting. - The integrated AFL (autofocus lock) button, to which additional functions can be assigned, expands the range of operations available on the lens. - The nine-blade rounded aperture diaphragm contributes to smooth, pleasing bokeh quality. - Weather-resistant construction with a brass mount that provides improved mounting precision and rigidity.
