Laowa 100 mm f/2.8 2X Ultra Macro APO
Following the success of the Laowa 60 mm f/2.8 2:1 Macro, the 100 mm f/2.8 2:1 Macro is the 2nd member of Laowa's 2:1 macro range. It features an apochromatic characteristic (APO) where chromatic aberration is invisible both in the "sharp" and "blurred" areas. This new 100 mm lens can cover full-frame sensors and focus from 2:1 magnification to infinity. The lens has a physical size similar to other 100 mm macro lenses on the market, but its wider magnification range allows macro photographers to capture subjects of all sizes. This 100 mm f/2.8 can also focus to infinity and serve as a portrait lens with exceptional optical quality. Available in Canon EF & RF / Nikon F & Z / Sony FE / Leica L mounts. The Canon version is equipped with a CPU chip and a motor for aperture control via the camera. The lens is currently not compatible with electronic adapters. For Sony FE camera users, please choose the Sony FE option instead. World's first 2:1 100 mm macro lens "Just because it's 100 mm doesn't mean it's ordinary". 2:1 magnification in an identical physical format The Laowa 100 mm f/2.8 2:1 Ultra-Macro is the second 2:1 macro lens we offer (the first being the 60 mm f/2.8). 100 mm is one of the most common focal lengths for macro photography. All 100 mm macro lenses on the market can only reproduce a maximum magnification of 1:1 (life size). The extended 2x magnification means that more detail can be seen through the lens. Photographers can now enjoy a wider magnification range to capture insects of different sizes. APO apochromatic design (invisible CA) The Laowa 100 mm f/2.8 features an apochromatic design (APO) where chromatic aberration (CA) in both sharp AND blurred areas (longitudinal CA) is controlled to a minimum. CA has long been one of the most troublesome aberrations in macro photography, and now you can forget about it and focus more on taking beautiful photographs. Similar size to a 1:1 macro lens Despite the extended magnification range, the size of our Laowa 100 mm is actually comparable to other macro lenses on the market. Automatic aperture (Canon EF), Aperture coupling (Nikon) The Canon version of the Laowa 100 mm macro lens is equipped with an aperture control motor and a CPU chip. The aperture can be controlled via the camera body (no aperture ring on the lens body) and will only close during shooting. Photographers no longer need to compose their shots through a dark viewfinder. A focus confirmation indicator will also appear in the camera. EXIF data can also be recorded.
