The Laowa 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 Zoom - Leica L is a full-frame compatible ultra wide-angle zoom lens. Compatible with all Leica-L mount cameras such as the Panasonic S series, Leica SL and Sigma fp cameras. Currently, it is the widest ultra wide-angle zoom in the world, offering an impressive angle of view of 102 to 130 degrees. The Laowa 10-18mm is a fully manual lens (including manual focus) with no electronic connections. It can also be used on smaller Leica APS-C sensor cameras, still offering a wide equivalent focal length of 15-27mm.
Compact and relatively lightweight at 496g, the Laowa is an excellent travel lens for full-frame Sony photographers. The Laowa offers an ultra wide-angle perspective, producing very wide and open perspectives while offering excellent sharpness for a wide-angle zoom. The lens design comprises 14 elements in 10 groups with 2 aspherical elements and one extra-low dispersion element to deliver maximum optical performance across the entire zoom range.
Thanks to its compact design, the Laowa 10-18mm offers versatile options for filter users, which will be a relief for many landscape photographers. Filter options include a 37mm rear filter slot for UV/ND filters.
In addition to being highly capable, the lens features a 5-blade straight aperture, carefully chosen to provide a pleasing 10-point starburst effect, making it an excellent tool for nightscape photography. A short minimum focusing distance of just 15cm (which is about the closest in its class) for some miniature macro shooting possibilities.
Easy switching between photo and video modes with a selectable click or de-clicked aperture design, making the lens appealing to both photographers and videographers. The click or de-clicked aperture can be activated via the switch on the lens barrel, allowing users to quickly switch from de-clicked to clicked aperture.
