Laowa 12mm f/2.8 Zero-D (Silver)
A wide-angle prime lens with a rectilinear optical design, the Laowa 12mm f/2.8 Zero-D Silver for Pentax K mount from Venus Optics is specially designed to limit distortion and provide clear, precise renderings of landscapes and architectural subjects. The optical construction also incorporates a pair of aspherical elements and three extra-low dispersion elements to control spherical and chromatic aberrations, improving sharpness and reducing colour fringing. A Frog Eye coating has also been applied to repel dust and moisture from the front element of the lens, which is advantageous when working in challenging environmental conditions. In addition to its optical attributes, this lens also features a precise manual focus design as well as a floating optical system to maintain accurate rendering across the entire focus range, from 7.09" to infinity. Furthermore, a petal-shaped lens hood is integrated into the lens design to reduce flare and ghosting when working in bright lighting conditions.
Features
- Ultra wide-angle lens designed for full-frame Pentax K DSLRs, this 12mm f/2.8 can also be used with APS-C models where it provides an equivalent focal length of 18mm.
- The bright maximum aperture of f/2.8 is well suited for working in low-light and challenging lighting conditions.
- The rectilinear design reproduces subjects with minimal distortion to suit landscape and architecture applications.
- Three extra-low dispersion elements reduce chromatic aberrations and colour fringing for improved clarity and colour neutrality. Two aspherical elements are also present to limit spherical aberrations and improve sharpness.
- A Frog Eye coating has been applied to repel dust and moisture for additional protection when working in adverse weather conditions.
- The manual focus design uses a floating optical system to maintain performance across the entire focus range from 7.09" to infinity.
- The integrated petal-shaped lens hood protects the lens from stray light to reduce flare and ghosting and also protects the front elements from accidental impacts.
