Laowa 15mm f/2 Zero-D Lens
A bright and fast wide-angle lens, the Venus Optics Laowa 15mm f/2 FE Zero-D for Canon RF mount is a rectilinear lens with sophisticated optical design to effectively limit distortion. The bright maximum aperture of f/2 makes this lens particularly useful for astrophotography and low-light use, and when combined with the minimum focusing distance of 15 cm, it also allows for distinct images with shallow depth of field. The optical construction includes three extra-low dispersion elements and two aspherical elements to control chromatic and spherical aberrations, providing greater sharpness, clarity, and reduced color fringing. A Frog Eye coating has also been applied to repel dust and moisture from the front lens element, which is beneficial when working in harsh environmental conditions. Additionally, the manual aperture ring can be de-clicked for smooth and silent aperture changes, suitable for video applications, and the front of the lens is threaded to accept 72mm screw-in filters.
