Its macro design allows a maximum magnification greater than life-size at 2:1, as well as a minimum focusing distance of 17 cm for working with close-up subjects. Regarding the optics, it uses three extra-low dispersion elements to significantly reduce colour fringing and chromatic aberrations, thus offering a high level of sharpness and colour accuracy. Furthermore, it is a manual focus lens, with an internal focusing system, and features a nine-blade diaphragm to help produce a smooth bokeh, suited to shallow depth-of-field applications.
