Laowa 7.5mm f/2 MFT (Standard Black)
The Venus Optics Laowa 7.5mm f/2 MFT Black is a compact and versatile rectilinear super wide-angle lens for Micro Four Thirds, particularly suited to astrophotography and other wide-angle subjects. Beyond its small size, this lens also features a remarkable optical design incorporating two aspherical elements and three extra-low dispersion elements to control distortion and aberrations, improving clarity and sharpness. A Frog Eye coating has also been applied to the front element to protect against water and dust, and the manual focus design allows working with subjects as close as 12 cm.
Features
- Ultra wide-angle lens designed for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras, offering an equivalent focal length of 15 mm in 35 mm full-frame format.
- The bright maximum aperture of f/2 is advantageous for working in low-light and challenging lighting conditions.
- The rectilinear design renders scenes with straight vertical lines and minimal distortion for a more realistic representation.
- Two aspherical elements and three extra-low dispersion elements are used to minimise spherical and chromatic aberrations, delivering sharper and clearer images with more accurate colours.
- The Frog Eye coating has been applied to the front element to repel water and dust.
- The manual focus design allows working with subjects as close as 12 cm.
- Accepts 46 mm screw-on filters and a petal-shaped lens hood is also included.
