Combining an ultra wide-angle field of view with a particularly compact design, this Laowa 9 mm f/2.8 Zero-D lens from Venus Optics is a Micro Four Thirds mount lens offering an equivalent focal length of 18 mm. As a Zero-D lens, the optical design of this 9 mm f/2.8 is specifically engineered to limit distortion, allowing clear and accurate renditions of landscapes and architectural subjects. The optical construction also incorporates two aspherical elements and three extra-low dispersion elements to control spherical and chromatic aberrations, enhancing sharpness and reducing colour fringing. A Frog Eye coating has also been applied to repel dust and moisture from the front element of the lens, making it easier to work in challenging environmental conditions. Its elegant and lightweight design pairs perfectly with mirrorless camera bodies and is ideal for everyday shooting as well as use on a gimbal stabiliser. Additionally, a petal-shaped lens hood is integrated into the lens design to reduce flare and ghosting when shooting in bright lighting conditions.
