Laowa 9mm f/2.8 Zero-D
Combining an ultra wide-angle field of view with a particularly compact design, this Laowa 9mm f/2.8 Zero-D lens from Venus Optics is a Sony E-mount lens offering an equivalent focal length of 13.5mm. As a Zero-D lens, the optical design of this 9mm f/2.8 is specifically engineered to limit distortion in order to achieve clear and accurate representations of landscapes and architectural subjects. The optical construction also incorporates two aspherical elements and three extra-low dispersion elements to control spherical and chromatic aberrations, thereby improving sharpness and reducing colour fringing. A Frog Eye coating has also been applied to repel dust and moisture from the front element of the lens, which is advantageous when working in challenging environmental conditions. Its elegant and lightweight design adapts perfectly to mirrorless camera bodies and is ideal for everyday shooting as well as use on stabilisers. In addition, a petal-shaped lens hood is integrated into the lens design to reduce flare and ghosting when shooting in bright lighting conditions.
