Laowa 60mm f/2.8 2X Ultra-Macro
From macro to infinity, the Laowa 60mm f/2.8 2X Ultra-Macro lens with Sony A mount from Venus Optics is a portrait-length prime lens offering the unique ability to photograph close-up subjects at 6.1 cm with a magnification ratio of 2:1, as well as distant subjects with infinity focus and a magnification of 0.1x. The versatility offered by this manual focus, manual aperture selection lens allows you to work with close-up subjects and then quickly switch to full-length subjects at a distance without requiring extension tubes or other adapters. The lens is optimised for use on APS-C format sensors, where it will provide an equivalent focal length of 90mm, and it can also be used on full-frame DSLRs, although some vignetting may occur when focusing at infinity. The lens construction includes nine elements in seven groups, and two of the lens groups move to control focus and prevent barrel distortion. This design also helps maintain high image sharpness, excellent clarity and colour accuracy. A 14-blade rounded diaphragm contributes to soft background blur quality, particularly beneficial when working with close subjects and selective focus techniques.
Features
- 60mm prime lens with Sony A mount compatible with full-frame sensors as well as APS-C sensors, where it will provide an equivalent focal length of 90mm. - The lens is capable of focusing on subjects as close as 6.1 cm with a magnification ratio of 2:1 for larger-than-life macro shots without requiring extension tubes or adapters. In addition, the lens is also capable of achieving infinity focus with a magnification ratio of 1:10 for general shooting applications. When used with full-frame sensors, the image may be slightly vignetted when focusing at infinity. - The manual focus design and manual aperture adjustment maintain no electronic communication with the camera. - The nine-element, seven-group construction produces a high degree of clarity across the entire focus range as well as accurate colour rendition. - Two lens groups move during focusing to control barrel distortion. - The 14-blade rounded diaphragm produces soft background blur quality when using selective focus or shallow depth-of-field techniques. - The built-in lens hood helps deflect stray light that could cause flare or ghosting. - The all-metal lens barrel offers assured durability and rigidity.
