The Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Contemporary zoom for Leica L mount is a versatile lens covering wide-angle to tele-portrait, characterised by its constant maximum aperture of f/2.8. Its design is well suited to available light conditions while offering enhanced control of depth of field. Lighter and more compact than similar 24-70mm lenses, its optical design incorporates two FLD and two SLD low-dispersion elements as well as three aspherical elements that reduce various aberrations to achieve high sharpness, improved clarity and increased chromatic accuracy. It features only a single lightweight focusing element, allowing the AF unit to remain compact. This, combined with a quiet and fast stepping motor, enables responsive and virtually silent autofocus performance — an ideal combination for filmmakers seeking a high-performance, lightweight and easy-to-handle camera system that works well with a gimbal or other accessories. Every optical surface benefits from Super Multi-Layer and Nano Porous coatings to improve contrast and colour rendering by suppressing flare and ghosting for optimal light transmission, and an additional water- and oil-repellent coating on the front optic helps keep the lens free from smears and droplets.
