Combining an exceptionally wide field of view with the ability to correct perspective distortion, the Venus Optics Laowa 15mm f/4.5R Zero-D Shift for Nikon F mount is an ideal lens for architectural and interior applications. The wide 110° angle of view is complemented by an impressive shift range of +/- 11 mm to compensate for unwanted converging lines and trapezoidal distortion. This shift control is further enhanced by a 360° rotation mechanism allowing movements in various directions to accommodate horizontal and vertical shooting orientations. Furthermore, as a member of the Zero-D lens series, this 15mm f/4.5 also renders scenes with great accuracy and very low distortion. In terms of optics, two aspherical elements and three extra-low dispersion elements are present, reducing spherical and chromatic aberrations for improved sharpness and clarity. An anti-reflective coating also helps to control flare and ghosting for better contrast and colour rendering. The lens uses manual focus to work with subjects down to 20 cm and features a fourteen-blade diaphragm to produce subtle 14-pointed star effects. This ultra wide-angle lens is designed for cameras with Nikon F mount. As a member of the Zero-D series, this lens features a rectilinear design that renders subjects with minimal distortion, suited to architectural, interior and landscape applications. The built-in +/- 11 mm shift adjustment helps to correct perspective distortion and eliminate trapezoidal distortion. The large 65 mm diameter image circle easily covers full-frame sensors without vignetting. The shift control works in conjunction with 360° rotation to apply shift in various directions, facilitating transitions between vertical and horizontal shooting orientations, and the rotation mechanism features detents every 15° for intuitive handling. Two aspherical elements limit spherical aberrations and distortion for improved sharpness and accurate rendering. Three extra-low dispersion elements reduce chromatic aberrations and colour fringing for increased clarity and colour neutrality. The updated anti-reflective coating eliminates flare and ghosting for better contrast and colour accuracy when shooting in bright lighting conditions. The manual focus design and minimum focusing distance of 20 cm are suited to working with close-up subjects. The fourteen-blade diaphragm produces subtle 14-pointed stars and specular highlights when stopping down and when photographing point light sources. Compatible with the optional lens shift bracket for more balanced mounting and to better enable use of the lens for shift panoramic photography without parallax.
