Combining an exceptionally wide field of view with the ability to correct perspective distortion, the Venus Optics Laowa 15mm f/4.5R Zero-D Shift lens with Pentax K mount is an ideal lens for architectural and interior applications. The ultra-wide 110° angle of view is complemented by an impressive shift range of +/- 11mm to compensate for unwanted converging lines and keystoning distortion. This shift control is complemented by a 360° rotation mechanism applying movements in different directions to accommodate shooting in both horizontal and vertical orientations. Furthermore, as a member of the Zero-D lens series, this 15mm f/4.5 also renders scenes with great accuracy and very low distortion. In terms of optics, two aspherical elements and three extra-low dispersion elements are present, which reduces spherical and chromatic aberrations for excellent sharpness and clarity. An anti-reflection coating also helps to control stray reflections and ghosting for improved contrast and colour rendition. The lens uses a manual focus design to work with subjects as close as 20cm and features a fourteen-blade aperture to produce subtle 14-pointed sunstars. The ultra wide-angle lens is designed for Pentax K mount mirrorless cameras. As a member of the Zero-D series, this lens has a rectilinear design that renders subjects with minimal distortion to suit architectural, interior, and landscape applications. The built-in +/- 11mm shift adjustment helps to correct perspective distortion and eliminate keystoning. The large 65mm diameter image circle easily covers full-frame sensors without vignetting. The shift control works in conjunction with 360° rotation to apply shift in different directions, facilitating switching between vertical and horizontal shooting orientations, and the rotation mechanism features detents every 15° for intuitive handling. Two aspherical elements limit spherical aberrations and distortion for improved sharpness and accurate rendition. Three extra-low dispersion elements reduce chromatic aberrations and colour fringing for increased clarity and colour neutrality. The improved anti-reflection coating suppresses stray reflections and ghosting for improved contrast and increased colour accuracy when shooting in intense lighting conditions. The manual focus design and 20cm minimum focus distance are suited for working with close-up subjects. The fourteen-blade aperture produces subtle 14-pointed sunstars and specular highlights when closing down the aperture and photographing point light sources. Compatible with the optional shift lens mount for a more balanced mounting and to better enable use of the lens for shift panoramic photography without parallax error.
