Combining an exceptionally wide angle of view with the ability to correct perspective distortion, the Venus Optics Laowa 20mm f/4 Zero-D Shift is an ideal lens for architectural and interior photography. Offered here with a Canon RF mount, the lens's wide 94.4° angle of view is complemented by an impressive shift range of +/- 11 mm to compensate for unwanted converging lines and keystoning. Furthermore, as part of the Zero-D lens series, this lens also renders scenes with a high degree of accuracy and very low distortion.
In terms of optics, two aspherical elements and three extra-low dispersion elements are present, which reduces both spherical and chromatic aberrations for high sharpness and clarity. A "Frog Eye" water-repellent coating also protects the front element of the lens against water droplets and moisture. The lens uses a manual focus design to work with subjects as close as 9.8" and features a fourteen-blade diaphragm to produce smooth, circular bokeh as well as specular highlights when stopped down and when photographing point light sources.
Ultra wide-angle lens designed for full-frame Canon RF cameras but which can also be used with APS-C models where it provides an equivalent focal length of 32 mm.
As part of the Zero-D series, this lens features an optical design that renders subjects with minimal distortion to suit architectural, interior, and landscape applications.
The built-in +/- 11 mm shift adjustment helps correct perspective distortion and eliminate keystoning.
The large image circle easily covers full-frame sensors without any vignetting. Additionally, this lens can also be adapted to certain mirrorless medium format digital cameras, where a shift of +/- 8 mm is available.
Two aspherical elements limit spherical aberrations and distortion for improved sharpness and accurate rendering.
Three extra-low dispersion elements reduce chromatic aberrations and colour fringing for increased clarity and colour neutrality.
The manual focus design and a minimum focus distance of 9.8" are suited to working with close-up subjects.
The fourteen-blade diaphragm creates smooth, circular bokeh as well as specular highlights when stopped down and when photographing point light sources.
The 360° rotating lens hood prevents unwanted reflections and washed-out images and allows you to adjust the angle of the hood to avoid blocking the image during extreme shifts in composition.
The "Frog Eye" water-repellent coating protects the front element of the lens against water droplets and moisture.
Compatible with the optional shift lens bracket for more balanced mounting and to better allow use of the lens for shift panoramic shooting without parallax error.
