A particularly elegant fixed focal length portrait lens, the 56mm f/1.4 DC DN is part of Sigma's Contemporary range and is designed for FUJIFILM X mirrorless cameras with X mount in APS-C format. The lens is characterised by its large maximum aperture of f/1.4, which is suitable for working in difficult lighting conditions and also offers improved depth of field control to isolate subjects and work with selective focus techniques. The optical design uses two aspherical elements and one SLD element, which help to reduce spherical and chromatic aberrations to improve sharpness and clarity. A super multi-layer coating has also been applied to suppress stray reflections and ghosting in order to achieve better contrast and colour accuracy when working in intense lighting conditions. Complementing the optics, a stepping AF motor is suited to both photo and video applications thanks to its fast, precise and near-silent performance.
As a member of Sigma's Contemporary range from the Global Vision series, this lens is designed to achieve a balance between convenience and performance, combining compact and lightweight construction and versatile handling with remarkable optical attributes.
The fixed focal length portrait lens is designed for FUJIFILM X mirrorless cameras with X mount in APS-C format and offers an equivalent focal length of 84 mm.
The large maximum aperture of f/1.4 excels in low-light conditions and also offers improved depth of field control for selective focus effects.
A Special Low Dispersion (SLD) element reduces colour fringing and chromatic aberrations for improved clarity and colour accuracy.
Two aspherical elements are used to limit distortion and spherical aberrations and also contribute to increased overall sharpness and precise rendering.
A super multi-layer coating has been applied to the lens elements to minimise stray reflections and ghosting and help produce images with rich contrast and neutral colours, even when shooting against the light.
A stepping AF motor benefits both photographers and videographers thanks to its fast, precise and near-silent performance.
The nine-blade rounded diaphragm contributes to a smooth and pleasing bokeh.
The bayonet mount is constructed in brass to ensure precision and durability. In addition, a rubber seal is integrated into the mount design to make it resistant to dust and splashes.
