The Samyang 50mm F1.2 AS UMC CS lens is a manual focus lens for mirrorless cameras equipped with APS-C sensors or smaller. Equivalent to a short telephoto, corresponding to 75mm on a 1.5x APS-C sensor, 80mm on a 1.6x crop sensor (Canon M) or a 100mm lens on a 2x MFT sensor, it is an excellent lens for framing tight portraits and other applications requiring a fast short telephoto. With a relatively compact size and weight for a large-aperture lens, the result is a compact, easy-to-carry and discreet lens, perfect for low-light or spontaneous street photography.


The Samyang 50mm f1.2 is a fully manual lens, with a fast f1.2 aperture combined with a 9-blade circular diaphragm delivering beautiful bokeh and background separation with shallow depth of field.


This lens comprises 9 elements in 7 groups, including 2 aspherical glass (ASP) lenses to deliver high resolution and edge-to-edge sharpness across the entire image. Samyang Optics' Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) treatment is used to optimise light transmission and minimise artefacts such as internal reflections, flare and ghosting.


The robust lens mount is made from high-strength aluminium alloy. As the lens is specially designed for mirrorless cameras (CSC) such as the Sony NEX / ILCE, Olympus PEN / OM-D, Panasonic Lumix G, Blackmagic MFT, Fujifilm X and Canon EOS M series, the Samyang 50mm f1.2 lens is compact and lightweight, weighing less than 390g, making it a highly portable lens for such an aperture.
