The Samyang 50mm F1.2 AS UMC CS is a manual focus lens for mirrorless cameras equipped with APS-C or smaller sensors. Equivalent to a short telephoto, it corresponds to a 75mm on a 1.5x APS-C sensor, 80mm on a 1.6x sensor (Canon M) or a 100mm lens on a 2x MFT sensor, making it an excellent choice for tight portraits and other applications requiring a fast short telephoto. Its relatively compact size and weight for a lens with such a wide aperture make it a compact, easy-to-carry and discreet lens, ideal for street photography in low light or spontaneous shooting. The Samyang 50mm f1.2 is a fully manual lens, with a bright aperture of f1.2, coupled with a 9-blade circular diaphragm offering superb bokeh and beautiful background separation for shallow depth-of-field photography. This lens comprises 9 elements arranged in 7 groups, including 2 aspherical glass lenses (ASP) to deliver high resolution and edge-to-edge sharpness across the entire image. Samyang Optics' Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) treatment is used to optimise light transmission and minimise artefacts such as internal reflections, flare and ghosting. The robust lens body is manufactured from high-strength aluminium alloy. As the lens is specially designed for compact system cameras (CSC) such as the Sony NEX/ILCE, Olympus PEN/OM-D, Panasonic Lumix G, Blackmagic MFT, Fujifilm X and Canon EOS M series, the Samyang 50mm f1.2 is compact and lightweight, weighing less than 390g, making it a highly portable lens for such a wide aperture.
