The Samyang 50mm F1.2 AS UMC CS lens is a manual focus lens for mirrorless cameras equipped with APS-C or smaller sensors. Equivalent to a short telephoto, being 75mm on a 1.5x APS-C sensor, 80mm on a 1.6x cropped sensor (Canon M) or a 100mm lens on a 2x MFT sensor, it is an excellent lens for tight portraits and other applications requiring a short, fast telephoto. With a relatively compact size and weight for such a fast lens, it results in a compact, easily portable and discreet lens, perfect for street photography in low-light conditions.


The Samyang 50mm f1.2 is a fully manual lens, with a wide f1.2 aperture, combined with a 9-blade circular aperture delivering a beautiful bokeh and background separation with a shallow depth of field.


This lens comprises 9 elements in 7 groups, including 2 aspherical (ASP) glass elements to deliver high resolution and edge-to-edge sharpness across the entire image. Samyang Optics' Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) treatment is used to optimise light transmission and minimise artefacts such as internal reflections, lens flare and ghosting.


The robust lens construction is made from high-strength aluminium alloy. As the lens is specifically designed for mirrorless cameras (CSC) such as Sony NEX / ILCE, Olympus PEN / OM-D, Panasonic Lumix G, Blackmagic MFT, Fujifilm X and Canon EOS M, the Samyang 50mm f1.2 is compact and lightweight, weighing less than 390g, making it a highly portable lens for such a wide aperture.
