The Samyang 100mm T3.1 VDSLR ED UMC MACRO cine lens is the cine/video version of the Samyang 100mm F2.8 ED UMC MACRO lens, offering the same excellent optics, but with an integrated gear system for follow focus systems on video platforms. Full-frame compatible, it is suitable for interchangeable-lens cameras and camcorders fitted with 24x36mm (full-frame) sensors or smaller. It is also part of the VDSLR II cine lens range, reproducing the same image colours and the same placement of aperture and focus rings to maximise convenience during shooting. The Samyang 100mm T3.1 VDSLR ED UMC MACRO enables more controlled video work with T-stop markings and a focus ring fitted for the follow focus system, allowing silent and smooth decoupled aperture control as well as smooth focusing. In addition, the distance scale and T-stops are marked on both sides of the lens for added convenience. A 1:1 reproduction ratio for breathtaking close-ups and macro and creative photography. Offering vivid colour reproduction and soft background blur (bokeh), it is an ideal lens for close-up images of flowers and insects, or for capturing bust-length portraits, or for general medium-distance work. This lens comprises 15 optical elements in 12 groups, including a high refractive index (HR) lens and an extra-low dispersion (ED) lens to minimise chromatic aberration and other artefacts in order to achieve maximum resolution and optimal image quality across the entire frame. Samyang Optics' Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) treatment is used to optimise light transmission and minimise flare and ghosting. It offers a close focusing distance of up to 0.307m. The 9 aperture blades deliver beautiful, natural bokeh even when stopping down the aperture. The lens body is compact and robust, built from high-strength aluminium alloy. The Samyang 100 VDSLR macro lens features a removable/detachable lens hood to minimise flare and ghosting.
