The Samyang 50mm T1.3 AS UMC CS VDSLR/Cine lens is the cinema/video version of the Samyang 50mm f/1.2 AS UMC CS lens, offering the same excellent optics, but with an integrated gear system for video systems with follow focus, including a de-clicked aperture and T-stop values. Cinema lenses allow for more precise control during shooting, the de-clicked aperture operates silently and smoothly, and the distance scales and T-stop values are marked on both sides of the lens for added convenience. The Samyang 50mm T1.3 is a fully manual lens, including manual focus, specially designed for mirrorless cameras with an APS-C sensor or smaller. Equivalent to a short telephoto, it corresponds to 75mm on an APS-C sensor with a 1.5x crop factor, 80mm on a 1.6x crop (Canon M), and a 100mm lens on an MFT sensor with a 2x crop. The Samyang 50mm T1.3 cine is an excellent lens for tight portraits and other applications requiring a short, fast telephoto. Its relatively compact size and weight for a lens with such a fast aperture make it easily portable and discreet, ideal for video or street cinema shooting in low light or spontaneously. The Samyang 50mm T1.3 is a fully manual lens, with a fast aperture of T1.3/f1.2, as well as a 9-blade circular diaphragm offering beautiful bokeh and background separation with shallow depth of field work, particularly useful for achieving a cinematic look. This lens comprises 9 elements arranged in 7 groups, including 2 aspherical glass lenses (ASP) to deliver high resolution and edge-to-edge sharpness across the entire image. Samyang Optics' Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) treatment is used to optimise light transmission and minimise artefacts such as internal reflections, flare, and ghosting. The solid lens mount is made from high-strength aluminium alloy, compact and relatively lightweight for a lens with such a fast aperture, weighing approximately 400g. The lens is specially designed for compact mirrorless cameras (CSC) such as the Sony NEX/ILCE, Olympus PEN/OM-D, Panasonic Lumix G, Blackmagic MFT, Fujifilm X, and Canon EOS M series.
