The Samyang 50mm T1.3 AS UMC CS VDSLR / Cine lens is the cinema/video version of the Samyang 50mm f/1.2 AS UMC CS lens, offering the same superb optics, but with an integrated gear system for video systems with continuous focus, including a de-clicked aperture and T-stop values. Cinema lenses allow more precise control during shooting, the de-clicked aperture operates silently and smoothly, and distance scales and T-stop values are marked on both sides of the lens for convenience. The Samyang 50mm T1.3 is a fully manual lens, including manual focus, specially designed for mirrorless cameras equipped with an APS-C or smaller sensor. Equivalent to a short telephoto lens, it corresponds to a 75mm on an APS-C sensor with a crop factor of 1.5x, 80mm on a sensor with a 1.6x crop (Canon M) and a 100mm lens on an MFT sensor with a 2x crop. The Samyang 50mm T1.3 cine is an excellent lens for tight portraits and other applications requiring a short, fast telephoto lens. Its relatively compact size and weight for a lens with such a large aperture make it easily portable and discreet, ideal for street video or low-light or spontaneous shooting. The Samyang 50mm T1.3 is a fully manual lens, with a fast aperture of T1.3 / f1.2, which, combined with a 9-blade circular diaphragm, delivers beautiful bokeh and background separation with a shallow depth of field, particularly useful for achieving a cinematic look. This lens comprises 9 elements in 7 groups, including 2 aspherical glass elements (ASP) to deliver high resolution and edge-to-edge sharpness across the entire image. Samyang Optics' Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) treatment is used to optimise light transmission and minimise artefacts such as internal reflections, flare and ghosting. The robust lens barrel is made from high-strength aluminium alloy, compact and relatively lightweight for a lens with such a large aperture, weighing approximately 400g. The lens is specially designed for compact mirrorless cameras (CSC) such as the Sony NEX / ILCE, Olympus PEN / OM-D, Panasonic Lumix G, Blackmagic MFT, Fujifilm X and Canon EOS M series.
