The Master Anamorphic 35 mm lens is a wide-angle lens from an ARRI/Zeiss series characterised by low distortion and a fast T1.9 aperture for shallow depth of field. This anamorphic lens delivers the skin tones and colour rendition for which Zeiss is renowned, and is chromatically matched to the other ARRI/Zeiss prime lenses and ARRI/Fujinon zoom lenses. Its 15-blade iris produces an oval, cinematographic-looking bokeh with a distinctive focus fall-off. Breathing is minimal during focus and there is no "anamorphic mumps/bloated face" effect on your subjects. With no visible loss in the corners of your images, the 2.39 format image is fully usable.
Designed from the outset for use with digital cinema cameras, the ARRI/Zeiss Master Anamorphic lenses will deliver optimal image quality when used with an ARRI ALEXA camera in 4:3 format. They also work with film cameras. Chromatic aberrations and corner vignetting are reduced thanks to the quasi-telecentric design of these multi-coated lenses.
This anamorphic lens provides a 2.39:1 image format when used with a Super-35 sensor. The Master Anamorphic 28 mm lens features a minimum focus distance of 30", focus marks in feet, a relatively light weight of 5.7 lb, and a compact length of 7.2". The lens is equipped with clicked focus and iris rings for use with follow focus, zoom control, and wireless F/I/Z systems. The PL LDS mount of the Master Anamorphic 35 mm lens will transfer lens data to compatible cameras.
