This fisheye lens produces circular images with a 180° angle of view when mounted on a full-frame digital SLR or 35mm film camera. It features a large maximum aperture of F3.5 and a minimum focusing distance of 13.5cm. Sigma's superior multi-layer coating and extra-low dispersion (SLD) glass offer excellent image quality for both digital and film SLR cameras. The special fisheye design allows for maximum creative expression.
Key features
EX
The exterior of this lens features an EX finish to indicate its superior build and optical quality, and to enhance its appearance.
DG
Sigma's DG lenses are designed for full-frame sensor cameras, but crop sensor cameras can also use these lenses. They are large-aperture lenses with wide angles and short minimum focusing distances. With an abundance of peripheral lighting, they are ideal lenses for digital SLRs while remaining suitable for traditional 35mm film SLRs.
Autofocus system
This circular fisheye lens produces circular images with a 180° angle of view and also incorporates an autofocus system for achieving precise focus that could be difficult through the camera's viewfinder due to the extremely large depth of field.
Maximum aperture F3.5
This lens is perfectly suited to low-light conditions indoors or at dusk.
Close-up photography
This circular fisheye lens has a minimum focusing distance of 13.5cm (5.3") and a maximum magnification of 1:4.6, making it particularly useful for close-up photography.
Excellent optical performance
The extra-low dispersion (SLD) glass provides effective compensation for chromatic aberration.
Multi-layer coating#Flare and ghosting reduction
Sigma's superior multi-layer coating reduces flare and ghosting, a common problem with digital cameras, and also creates an optimal colour balance.
An ideal lens for scientific applications
Due to the quantifiable angle/area relationship it produces, this lens can be used for scientific applications such as solid angle measurements of cloud distribution in the sky, or the distribution of vegetation in tropical forest canopies.
Gel filter holder
A filter holder at the rear of the lens accepts gel filters.
