A fast and versatile standard lens, this Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary is designed for Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras equipped with APS-C format sensors, where it offers an equivalent focal length of 45 mm. The bright maximum aperture of f/1.4 is advantageous in low-light conditions and also allows extended focus control for selective focus techniques. With regard to the optical design, one aspherical element and one double-sided aspherical element work together to significantly reduce spherical aberrations, thereby increasing clarity and definition for remarkably sharp image quality. A high-refractive-index element is also present to minimise colour fringing and chromatic aberrations, and a Super Multi-Layer coating has been applied to control flare and ghosting in bright lighting conditions. Furthermore, benefiting both photography and video recording, this compact lens also incorporates a stepping AF motor for smooth and near-silent autofocus performance. Designed as a versatile standard lens, the combination of speed and optical prowess makes it an essential lens for mirrorless photographers.

- A true versatile standard lens, this 30 mm lens is designed for Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras equipped with APS-C format sensors where it offers an equivalent focal length of 45 mm.

- The fast maximum aperture of f/1.4 excels in low-light conditions and also allows better focus control to produce shallow depth of field effects.

- One aspherical element and one double-sided aspherical element control a range of spherical aberrations and distortions for increased sharpness and resolution. In addition, a high-refractive-index, high-dispersion glass element is also incorporated into the design, offering anomalous partial dispersion characteristics to control chromatic aberrations and reduce colour fringing.

- A Super Multi-Layer coating has been applied to the lens elements to minimise flare and ghosting and help produce images rich in contrast and with neutral colour, even when shooting against the light.

- A stepping AF motor benefits photographers and videographers with its fast, precise and near-silent performance.

- A nine-blade rounded aperture diaphragm contributes to pleasing bokeh quality.

- The lens is constructed using a thermally stable composite material (TSC), as well as traditional metals, for greater precision and use across significant temperature variations. The exterior of the lens barrel is also engraved with the year of production.

- The bayonet mount is constructed in brass to ensure precision and durability.
