A fast and versatile prime lens, this Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary is designed for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras, where it offers an equivalent focal length of 60mm. The large maximum aperture of f/1.4 is advantageous for working in low-light conditions and also allows extended control of focus placement for selective focus techniques. Regarding the optical design, an aspherical element and a double-sided aspherical element work together to significantly reduce spherical aberrations, thereby increasing clarity and definition for a remarkably sharp image quality. A high refractive index element is also present to minimise colour fringing and chromatic aberrations, and a Super Multi-Layer coating has been applied to control flare and ghosting in bright lighting conditions. Furthermore, to the benefit of both photography and video recording, this compact lens also incorporates a stepping AF motor for smooth and near-silent autofocus performance. Designed as a versatile standard lens, this combination of speed and optical prowess makes it a lens of choice for photographers using mirrorless cameras.

- A truly versatile prime lens slightly longer than standard, this 30mm lens is designed for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras where it offers an equivalent focal length of 60mm.

- The fast maximum aperture of f/1.4 excels in low-light conditions and also allows better control of focus placement to produce shallow depth of field effects.

- An aspherical element and a double-sided aspherical element control a range of spherical aberrations and distortions for improved sharpness and resolution. Additionally, a high refractive index, high-dispersion glass element is also incorporated into the design, offering partial dispersion characteristics to control chromatic aberrations and reduce colour fringing.

- A Super Multi-Layer coating has been applied to the lens elements to minimise flare and ghosting and help produce images that are rich in contrast and colour-neutral, even when shooting into the light.

- A stepping AF motor benefits photographers and videographers with its fast, precise, and near-silent performance.

- A nine-blade rounded diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.

- The lens is constructed using a thermally stable composite material (TSC), as well as traditional metals, for greater precision and use in significant temperature variations. The exterior of the lens barrel is also engraved with the year of production.

- The bayonet mount is constructed from brass to ensure precision and durability.
