Cooke Front Anamorphic/i SF Prime Lens - 40mm T2.3
All the anamorphic lens characteristics demanded by filmmakers today with the Cooke Look® and oval bokeh. This is the Cooke Anamorphic /i Look. Beautifully rendered images for film and particularly suited for use with digital cameras. The Anamorphic /i lens corrects exceptionally well for aberrations across the entire image area - astigmatism, lateral and longitudinal colour - that will give shape, contour and soul to your images.nnWhilst "look" is crucial, precision engineering and seamless integration with other equipment are equally important. The Anamorphic /i prime lenses, available in ten focal lengths, are colour matched to our S4/i, 5/i and miniS4/i lenses.nnIdeal for close-ups and product shots, the Cooke 65mm Macro Anamorphic /i 2X Prime lens has a magnification ratio of 4.1:1 with close focus of 5.5" from the front of the lens.n nNow you have even more latitude. We've gone even further with our new Anamorphic/i SF lenses which are specially manufactured with a coating allowing even more creative options. "SF" stands for Special Flair as they allow you to push flare, bokeh and other aberrations into new visual territory. Complementary to the Anamorphic/i lens series, they are offered in focal lengths of 25mm, 32mm, 40mm, 50mm, 75mm, 100mm, 135mm, 180mm and 300mm. nThe Anamorphic /i lenses deliver superb optical and mechanical performance. Distortion, veiling, flare and all aberrations are controlled at all apertures across the entire field of view. Like our S4/i, 5/i and miniS4/i prime lenses, the cam focus mechanism enables smooth focus adjustments. Modular construction increases ease of servicing and maintenance. The Anamorphic /i lenses are designed and manufactured by us to our traditional high standards in Leicester, England. Award-winning cam focus mechanism enabling smooth focus adjustments
Our Cooke Anamorphic/i prime lenses are supplied with /i technology, and are designed for all professional film and electronic cinema cameras with PL mount. The /i technology provides directors of photography and camera operators with vital information on lens settings, focus distance, aperture and depth of field, hyperfocal distance, serial number, owner data, lens type and focal length in metric and feet measurements. For zoom lenses, the zoom position is displayed.

Key Features of Cooke Anamorphic /i Technology Lenses
Optical Design
The optics are designed to deliver maximum performance at full aperture with superior control of flare, distortion and spherical aberration.
Electronics
Accessible via a cable connector near the lens mount and contacts in the mount that synchronise with compatible /i cameras and accessories.
Colour Balance
All Cooke Anamorphic/i prime lenses are colour balanced to a specification within Kodak-approved parameters and are colour matched and compatible with Cooke 5/i, Cooke S4/i, miniS4/i lenses, and the CXX 15-40mm T2 S4/i zoom.
Aperture
All Cooke Anamorphic/i prime lenses have a true T2.3 aperture and cover the Super 35mm format except the 65mm MACRO which has a T2.6 aperture.
Index Marks
Each index mark is labelled. More detailed markings allow for more precise focus control.
Focus Movement
Our Academy Award®-winning cam focus movement, combined with the additional advantage of a large lens barrel diameter, has enabled an increase in the number of focus markings, particularly in close focus. Spherical aberration has been controlled across the entire focal length range to eliminate compensation for back focus changes with aperture. A four-point contact bearing provides positive, smooth, backlash-free movement.
Focus Scale
Large clear numbers on both sides of the focus barrel benefit the focus puller when shooting in challenging lighting conditions. Additionally, the entrance pupil position is engraved on the lens.
Camera Mounts
Hardened Cooke PL mount with /i technology contacts.
Compatibility
All Cooke Anamorphic/i lenses have a common fixed front diameter of 110mm, except for the 25, 65 MACRO and 300mm focal lengths and the Anamorphic/i zoom lenses, which are 136mm. All have a 134T x 0.8 iris drive gear.
External Finish
A scratch-resistant PTFE hard anodised finish is provided on all Cooke lenses, offering a durable, wear-resistant surface to meet the most demanding environmental conditions.
Iris
An eleven-blade linear iris assembly is installed in the Cooke Anamorphic/i prime lenses with an aperture range of T2.3 to T22; T2.6 to T22 on the 65mm MACRO, T2.8 to T22 on the 180mm, and T3.5 to T22 on the 300mm.
Weight/Size Ratio
The lenses are designed for all shooting applications, including handheld and Steadicam, offering a comfortable balance ratio with the latest compact cameras.
Reliability and Service
The Cooke Anamorphic/i prime lenses are designed to meet a market requirement for reliable performance with minimum downtime.
