The Samyang 10mm T3.1 ED AS NCS CS VDSLR lens is the cine/video version of the Samyang 10mm T3.1 ED AS NCS CS lens, offering the same excellent optics, but with an integrated gear system for video configurations with follow focus systems.
The Samyang 10mm lenses are ultra wide-angle manual focus fixed focal length lenses designed for CS/APS-C cameras with cropped sensors, offering excellent optical quality and exceptional resolution, providing an exceptionally wide field of view of up to 109.5 degrees in rectilinear imaging.
The Samyang 10mm lenses are the first Samyang lenses to feature a brand new Nano Crystal System (NCS) anti-reflection coating. These new coatings offer an even lower reflection factor than Samyang's UMC coatings. The NCS coating technology provides a precise process for applying the anti-reflection coating more uniformly across the lens surface. Other benefits provided by the nanocrystalline layer include improved light transmission, increased resistance to lens flare, resulting in maximum image contrast.
Combined with a T3.1 aperture, considered fast for a wide-angle lens, it offers good low-light capabilities.
Like all Samyang lenses, the 10mm is very well built for a lens in its class. The optical construction comprises 14 elements arranged in 10 groups, including 2 AS aspherical lenses and one extra-low dispersion glass element. The Samyang 10mm VDSLR features an integrated fixed lens hood.
While the VDSLR versions were developed primarily for professional cinematography/video production, they can also be used for photography. Samyang's VDSLR versions are measured in T values (T-Stops) rather than F values (F-stops), which is the standard for cinema camera lenses. The F-number expresses the speed of the lens assuming the lens transmits 100% of the incident light. The T-number expresses the actual light transmission, which is more precise and is the standard for professional cinema lenses.
Available in 10 mounts: Canon EF, Canon-M, Nikon F, Pentax K, Sony A, Sony-E, Four Thirds, MFT, Samsung NX and Fujifilm X.
