The Samyang 16 mm T2.2 ED AS UMC CS VDSLR lens is a bright ultra wide-angle manual focus lens designed for cameras and camcorders equipped with CS / APS-C / DX and MFT sensors. Available in Canon EF, Nikon F, Sony A, Sony E, Canon M (EF-EOS M), Fuji / Fujifilm X and Olympus / Panasonic Micro Four Thirds (MFT / M43) mounts. This VDSLR (Video DSLR) version was developed primarily for professional cinematography. The VDSLR version includes a follow focus gear and a de-clicked aperture, allowing the user to smoothly and silently adjust focus and aperture / depth of field during shooting, and to connect to professional follow focus systems. The Samyang is rated in T-Stops rather than F-stops, which is customary for cinema camera lenses. The F-stop number expresses the speed of the lens assuming that the lens transmits 100% of the incident light. The T number expresses the actual light transmission, which is more accurate and is the standard for professional cinema lenses. The Samyang 16 mm T2.2 ED AS UMC CS VDSLR version is optically identical to the standard Samyang 16 mm f/2.0 ED AS UMC CS version. The Samyang 16 mm is a rectilinear lens, offering superb image quality and low distortion. It is perfectly suited to crop sensor cameras for landscape photography and general photography requiring a high quality wide-angle lens. The large f2 aperture allows low-light photography. The optical construction comprises 13 elements in 11 groups, with 2 aspherical lenses, 1 extra-low dispersion (ED) element and a hybrid aspherical element, and benefits from Samyang's Ultra UMC multi-coating which ensures superb light transmission and minimises reflections and ghosting. The elements are housed in a solid body weighing approximately 570 g, depending on the mount. Suitable for professional and amateur photographers, the 16 mm is equivalent to 24 mm on APS-C size sensors, 25.6 mm on Canon EOS (1.6x crop factor), and 32 mm on cameras equipped with Olympus and Panasonic MFT system sensors. The new Samyang 16 mm accepts 77 mm filters for attaching ND filters, polarising filters or any filter with a 77 mm thread, and features a removable petal-shaped lens hood. The Samyang 16 mm features a wide, ribbed manual focus ring that is smooth and well-damped. This allows precise manual focusing, particularly suited to video / more professional shooting with digital SLRs where manual focus is preferred, enabling focus pulling during video recording. The lens comes with front and rear lens caps, a petal-shaped lens hood and a soft lens pouch. Available mounts: Canon EF, Canon M (EF-EOS M), Nikon F, Sony A, Sony E, Fujifilm X, Pentax K, and versions for Olympus / Panasonic Micro Four Thirds (MFT / M43) mount. specifications
