The Samyang 50mm T1.5 AS UMC VDSLR cine lens is the cine/video version of the Samyang 50mm f1.4 AS UMC, offering the same excellent optical performance, but with an integrated gear system for follow focus systems on video platforms. This specially designed Samyang 50mm lens is full-frame compatible, suitable for interchangeable-lens cameras and camcorders equipped with a 24x36 mm (full-frame) sensor or smaller. The standard Samyang 50mm fixed focal length lens offers a field of view of 46.2 degrees with a fast T1.5 (f/1.4) aperture for excellent low-light video/photo shooting and working with a shallow depth of field. Splendid image quality and a shallow depth of field with natural and beautiful bokeh, thanks to the use of 8 circular aperture blades, make it particularly well-suited to cinema work where separation of the subject from the background is desired. The optics consist of nine elements arranged in six groups (including one aspherical element and one hybrid aspherical element). To ensure high contrast and faithful colour reproduction, all elements have been treated with Samyang's UMC multi-layer anti-reflection coatings. Samyang's VDSLR versions are rated in T-Stops rather than F-stops, which is the standard for cinema camera lenses. The F-stop number expresses the speed of the lens assuming that the optics transmit 100% of the incident light. The T number expresses the actual light transmission, which is more accurate and is the standard for professional cinema lenses. Supplied with a removable lens hood, as well as front and rear caps.
