The Samyang 135mm T2.2ED UMC VDSLR Cine lens is the cinema/video version of the Samyang 135mm f2.0 ED UMC lens, offering the same excellent optical performance, but with an integrated gear system for follow focus systems on video platforms. Full-frame compatible, it is suitable for interchangeable lens cameras and camcorders equipped with a 24x36mm (full-frame) or smaller sensor. The Samyang 135mm features a floating-type design, with an extra-low dispersion (ED) lens element for maximum optical performance. A circular T2.2 aperture with 9 blades delivers excellent bokeh for close-up portraits and short telephoto shots. To ensure high contrast and faithful colour reproduction, all lens elements have been treated with Samyang's UMC multi-layer anti-reflection coatings. The lens design and coatings deliver remarkably low chromatic aberrations, ghosting and flare. Splendid image quality and shallow depth of field with beautiful, natural bokeh, thanks to the use of 9 circular aperture blades, make it particularly well suited to cinema work where subject separation from the background is desired. The Samyang 135mm lens is also available in a standard version: the Samyang 135mm f2.0 ED UMC lens. The VDSLR version features decoupled aperture and focus rings, perfectly suited for video and cinema use, and for mounting on follow focus systems. This manual focus cine telephoto lens is suitable for both full-frame and crop sensors. It delivers vivid colours and a smooth bokeh zone that make it an excellent lens for portrait photography, night landscapes, wildlife and journalism. Samyang's VDSLR versions are rated in T-Stops rather than F-stops, which is standard for cinema camera lenses. The F-stop number expresses the speed of the lens assuming the optics transmit 100% of the incident light.
