The Samyang Cine 135mm T2.2 ED UMC VDSLR lens is the cine/video version of the Samyang 135mm f2.0 ED UMC lens, featuring the same excellent optics but with an integrated gear system for video equipment fitted with follow focus systems. Full-frame compatible, suitable for interchangeable-lens cameras and camcorders fitted with a 24x36mm (full-frame) or smaller sensor.
The Samyang 135mm features a floating element design, an extra-low dispersion (ED) optical element for maximum optical performance. A T2.2 circular aperture with 9 blades delivers excellent bokeh for close-up portraits and short telephoto work. To ensure high contrast and faithful colour reproduction, all lens elements have been treated with Samyang's UMC multi-layer anti-reflection coatings. The lens design and coatings provide remarkably low chromatic aberrations, ghosting and lens flare.
Splendid image quality and a shallow depth of field with a naturally beautiful bokeh thanks to the use of 9 circular aperture blades make it particularly suited to cinema work, where separation of the subject from the background is desired.
The Samyang 135mm lens is also available in a standard version: the Samyang 135mm f2.0 ED UMC lens.
The VDSLR version features de-clicked aperture and focus rings, perfectly suited to video and cinema use, and for mounting on follow focus systems. This manually focused cine telephoto lens is suitable for full-frame or cropped sensors. It delivers vibrant colours and a soft blur area that make it an excellent lens for portrait, nocturnal landscape, nature and reportage photography.
Samyang's VDSLR versions are rated in T-Stops rather than F-stops, which is customary for cinema camera lenses. The F-stop number expresses the speed of the lens assuming that the optics transmit 100% of the incident light. The T number expresses the actual light transmission, which is more accurate and is the standard for professional cinema lenses.
Supplied with removable lens hood and front and rear caps. Filter size: 77mm
Initially intended to be marketed in Canon, Nikon, Sony E and MFT mounts. The full range of mounts will include Canon EF, Nikon F (AE), Sony A, Sony E, Pentax K, Fujifilm X, Canon M, Samsung NX, Four Thirds and Micro Four Thirds (MFT)
