The Samyang 135mm T2.2 ED UMC VDSLR cinema lens is the cinema/video version of the Samyang 135mm f2.0 ED UMC lens, offering the same excellent optics but with an integrated gear system for video platforms with follow focus systems. Full-frame compatible, suitable for cameras and camcorders with interchangeable lenses fitted with a 24x36mm (full-frame) or smaller sensor.

The Samyang 135mm features a floating-type design, an extra-low dispersion (ED) lens element for maximum optical performance. A T2.2 circular aperture with 9 blades delivers excellent bokeh for close-up portraits and short telephoto photography. To ensure high contrast and faithful colour reproduction, all lens elements have been treated with Samyang's UMC multi-layer anti-reflection coatings. The lens design and coatings provide remarkably low chromatic aberrations, ghost images and lens flare.

Splendid image quality and shallow depth of field with beautiful and natural bokeh thanks to the 9 circular aperture blades make it particularly suited to cinema, where separation of subject and background is desired.

The VDSLR version features decoupled aperture and focus rings, perfectly suited to video and cinema use, and for mounting on follow focus systems. This manually focused cinema telephoto lens is suitable for full-frame sensors or smaller sensors. It delivers vibrant colours and a smooth focus zone, making it an excellent lens for portrait, nocturnal landscape, nature and reportage photography.

Samyang's VDSLR versions are rated in T-Stops rather than F-stops, which is the standard for cinema camera lenses. The F-stop number expresses the speed of the lens assuming the optics transmit 100% of incident light. The T number expresses the actual light transmission, which is more accurate, and is the standard for professional cinema lenses.
