The Samyang 12mm f2.8 ED AS NCS Fisheye lens is a bright super wide-angle fisheye lens specially designed for full-frame cameras. It is therefore perfect for cameras such as the Canon 5D, Nikon D800, D810, or Sony A7, A7R, A7s, etc. The Samyang 12mm fisheye is a manual lens with manual focus. It offers a diagonal field of view of 180 degrees on a full-frame sensor (24 x 36 mm format). In terms of optics, it is one of the most advanced "fisheye" lenses. With excellent construction and quality optical design, it comprises 12 optical elements in 8 groups, including three extra-low dispersion ED glass elements and two aspherical elements ensuring perfect image depth and minimising chromatic aberrations. The Samyang 12mm 1:2.8 ED AS NCS Fisheye features a highly effective NCS nano-crystalline anti-reflection coating applied in combination with standard UMC coatings. It offers excellent focusing, high contrast and natural colour reproduction even at full aperture. The large f2.8 aperture and high-quality optics guarantee excellent results even in varying lighting conditions. The 7 aperture blades are circular, which helps create excellent bokeh. The lens body is compact and solid as it is manufactured from high-strength aluminium. The removable petal-shaped lens hood minimises stray reflections and ghosting. Fisheye lenses are popular for special effects where distortion, exaggerated perspective or extreme depth of field are desired. Samyang fisheye lenses are also capable of producing 360° panoramas and virtual tours, including complete 360-degree images with the use of various third-party software, available from other suppliers.
