It offers a diagonal angle of view of 180 degrees on a full-frame sensor (24 x 36mm format). In terms of optics, it's one of the most advanced "fisheye" lenses. With excellent construction and quality optical design, it includes 12 lens elements arranged in 8 groups, including three ED low-dispersion glass elements and two aspherical lens elements ensuring perfect image depth and minimising chromatic aberration. The Samyang 12mm 1:2.8 ED AS NCS Fisheye features a highly effective NCS nanocrystal anti-reflective coating applied with standard UMC coatings. It offers excellent focus, high contrast and natural colour reproduction even at full aperture. The fast f2.8 aperture and high-quality optics ensure excellent results even in various lighting conditions. The 7 diaphragm blades are circular, which helps create excellent bokeh. The lens frame is compact and solid as it is made of high-strength aluminium. The detachable petal-shaped lens hood minimises flare and ghosting. Fisheye lenses are popular for special effects where distortion, exaggerated perspective or extreme depth of field are desired.
