The Samyang 16mm f/2.0 ED AS UMC CS lens is an ultra wide-angle manual focus lens designed for CS / APS-C crop sensor cameras.

The Samyang 16mm is a rectilinear lens, offering superb image quality and low distortion. It is perfectly suited to crop sensor cameras for landscape photography and general photography requiring a high-quality wide-angle lens. The fast f2 aperture enables low-light photography.

The optical construction comprises 13 elements in 11 groups, with 2 aspherical lenses, 1 extra-low dispersion (ED) element and a hybrid aspherical element, and features Samyang's UMC ultra multi-coating which ensures superb light transmission and minimises flare and ghosting. The Samyang 16mm offers very low distortion characteristics, as well as professional optical performance and handling. The elements are housed in a solid body weighing approximately 570g, depending on the mount.

Suitable for professional and amateur photographers, the 16mm is equivalent to 24mm on APS-C size sensors, 25.6mm on Canon EOS (1.6x crop factor), and 32mm on Olympus and Panasonic MFT sensor system cameras.

The new Samyang 16mm accepts 77mm filters for attaching NDs, polarisers or any filter with a 77mm thread, and features a removable petal-shaped lens hood.

The Samyang 16mm has a wide knurled manual focus ring that is smooth and well damped. This allows precise manual focusing, particularly suited to more professional videography / filmmaking with DSLRs where manual focus is preferred, enabling focus control during video recording.

The lens is supplied with front and rear lens caps, a petal-shaped lens hood and a soft pouch.

Available in versions for Canon EF and EF-M, Fujifilm X, Olympus / Panasonic Four Thirds and Micro Four Thirds, Pentax K, Samsung NX, or Sony A and E mounts
