The Samyang 16 mm f/2.0 ED AS UMC CS lens is an ultra wide-angle manual focus lens designed for cameras equipped with CS/APS-C sensors.
The Samyang 16 mm is a rectilinear lens offering superb image quality and low distortion. It is perfectly suited to cameras equipped with APS-C sensors for landscape photography and general photography requiring a high-quality wide-angle lens. The large f2 aperture allows photography in low light.
The optical construction comprises 13 elements in 11 groups, with 2 aspherical lenses, 1 extra-low dispersion (ED) element and a hybrid aspherical lens, and benefits from Samyang's Ultra UMC multi-coating treatment, which ensures excellent light transmission and minimises flare and ghosting. The Samyang 16 mm offers very low distortion characteristics, as well as professional optical performance and handling. The elements are housed in a solid body weighing approximately 570 g, depending on the mount.
Suitable for both professional and amateur photographers, the 16 mm is equivalent to 24 mm on APS-C sensors, 25.6 mm on Canon EOS (1.6x crop factor), and 32 mm on Olympus and Panasonic MFT sensor cameras.
The new Samyang 16 mm accepts 77 mm filters for attaching ND filters, polarisers, or any filter with a 77 mm thread, and features a removable petal lens hood.
The Samyang 16 mm features a wide, ribbed manual focus ring that is smooth and well damped. This allows precise manual focusing, particularly suited to professional video with digital SLRs where manual focus is preferred, enabling focus pulling during video recording.
The lens is supplied with front and rear caps, a petal lens hood, and a soft pouch.
Available in Canon EF and EF-M, Fujifilm X, Olympus/Panasonic Four Thirds and Micro Four Thirds, Pentax K, Samsung NX, or Sony A and E versions
