The Samyang 24 mm F1.4 ED AS UMC is a high-quality wide-angle prime lens with a large aperture, designed for full-frame or APS-C sensors for Canon EF, Canon M, Sony A, Sony E, Pentax K, Fujifilm X, Samsung NX, Four Thirds, and Olympus and Panasonic Micro Four Thirds MFT. A Nikon version with automatic exposure (AE) is available (listed separately). It is ideal for full-frame cameras, including recent Sony full-frame E-mount cameras, offering a high-quality wide-angle lens perfect for street, landscape and architectural photography, even in low-light conditions. Sharpness is excellent, even at the edges of the frame at large apertures, and the large f/1.4 aperture is capable of producing a shallow depth of field when needed. Photographers using Canon DX/APS-C sensors will get a field of view of approximately 38 mm (35 mm equivalent) suited to photojournalism and general photography. On Four Thirds cameras, the field of view would be approximately that of a standard 50 mm lens (35 mm equivalent), offering a fast standard prime lens, and a 50 mm equivalent with Micro Four Thirds (MFT). The Samyang 24 mm F1.4 ED AS UMC is a manual focus prime lens. The manual focus ring is wide, easily accessible and perfectly suited to most photographic applications, with the exception of applications such as sports where autofocus lenses would be better suited. For cinematography and video applications, manual focus is often the preferred choice, allowing focus changes during shooting, and there is a growing number of users using DSLRs for filmmaking and high-definition (HD) video. This Samyang 24 mm f/1.4 ED AS UMC lens features a standard coupled (de-clicked) aperture, adjustable in 1-stop (1 EV) intervals. Precise focusing at very short distances or in critical focusing situations can be achieved using Live View focusing. The Samyang 24 mm offers a beautiful bokeh (the character of out-of-focus areas), thanks to its 8-blade circular aperture design and large aperture. The optical construction includes 13 elements arranged in 12 groups, 4 elements are made from Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass, plus two aspherical elements. The 24 mm features Ultra Multi Coated (UMC) lenses for the best possible light transmission, and resistance to ghosting and flare. The Samyang 24 mm F1.4 ED AS UMC lens offers a professional wide-angle prime lens with excellent optics, while providing outstanding value for money. Supplied with a removable petal-shaped lens hood, lens caps and a soft pouch. Filter diameter is 77 mm. Technical specifications
