This Nikon AE (Auto Exposure) version of the Samyang 24mm F1.4 ED AS UMC lens incorporates electronic circuits allowing full control of exposure settings accessible from the Nikon body, including i-TTL flash communication and EXIF data, compatible with all Nikon digital SLR cameras.
Featuring a fast maximum aperture of f1.4, the Samyang 24mm f1.4 is designed for Nikon full-frame (FX) DSLRs (such as the D3x, D800 and D700) and Nikon DX bodies (such as the D7000, D5100, D3100, D90, D3000, etc.).
On Nikon full-frame bodies, it provides a high-quality wide-angle lens perfect for street, landscape and architectural photography or low-light/night photography. The fast f/1.4 aperture allows a shallow depth of field when needed. It delivers exceptional bokeh (the character of out-of-focus areas), thanks to its design and fast aperture, typically achieved only with much more expensive lenses.
Photographers using Nikon APS-C/DX (cropped) sensors will obtain a field of view equivalent to approximately 36mm (due to the 1.5x crop factor), making it suitable for photojournalism and general photography.
The Samyang 24mm F1.4 ED AS UMC is a fixed focal length lens equipped with manual focus. The manual focus ring is wide, easily accessible and perfectly suited to most photographic applications, with the exception of applications such as sports where autofocus lenses would be better suited.
For cinematographic and video applications, manual focus is often the preferred choice, allowing focus pulls during shooting, and there is a growing number of users employing DSLRs for high-definition (HD) film and video production. This Samyang 24mm f/1.4 ED AS UMC Nikon (AE) lens features a standard coupled aperture, adjustable in 1-stop intervals.
Precise focusing at very short distances or in critical focusing situations can be achieved through the use of Live View focusing, available on most recent camera models.
The optical construction of the Samyang 24mm lens includes 13 optical elements arranged in 12 groups, 4 elements are made of Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass, plus two aspherical elements. The 24mm features UMC – Ultra Multi Coating treatment for the best possible light transmission, and resistance to ghosting and flare.
The Samyang 24mm F1.4 ED AS UMC lens offers a professional wide-angle prime lens with excellent optics, while managing to deliver excellent value for money.
Supplied with a removable petal-shaped lens hood, lens caps and a soft pouch. Filter size: 77mm
